Jeep gave us all a sneak peek at the new look sported by its 2019 Cherokee mid-December, ahead of the vehicle’s full reveal January at the Detroit auto show.
The automaker has said next to nothing about the SUV, save that it’ll be available with more efficient engine options than ever. Some are wondering if that means a hybrid is on the way, but that’s all speculation for now.
The changes evident in the shared images show a mild update to the front and rear fascias. The nose looks much more conventional—no more split headlights, and the grille, while it still has a bend in it, more closely resembles the rest of the Jeep family’s.
The rear has been tidied up slightly, the back hatch broken up by a new licence plate mounting position.
Full details and specs are expected in a few weeks at the North American International Auto Show.
