Miata fans rejoice. The sixth-generation of Mazda’s long-awaited MX-5 Miata will be officially unveiled this upcoming fall on September 3.
The Japanese automaker will host simultaneous global events in Japan, Spain and the United States to signal the roadster’s grande return – the spanking-new MX-5 will apparently be “exclusively” revealed at the special event held in Monterey, CA on the 3rd.
Officially confirmed as a 2016 model, the all-new MX-5 made an initial debut at this year’s New York International Auto Show in the form of an exposed chassis.
In addition to the global unveil, Mazda has partnered with the enthusiast-operated event eponymously known as Miatas at Mazda Raceway, which will be held on September 5-7.
“We’re excited to make this official, to announce that the newest member of the MX-5 Miata family will be arriving soon,” said Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO, Mazda North American Operations.
