Aston Martin celebrated its 104th birthday and the purchase of three new aircraft hangars by unleashing its most valuable and highly acclaimed sports cars in a tire-roasting hoon session, all captured in a video released by the brand April 25.
The short film shows two of Aston Martin’s top racing drivers, Nicki Thiim and Darren Turner, along with its chief engineer, Matt Becker, punishing the rear tires on a variety of classic and modern Astons.
The trio eventually get ‘caught’ by their boss, Aston Martin president and CEO Andy Palmer, but the freshly rubberized floor is blamed on sleepy security guards in a comedic twist.
A total of 28 drool-worthy Astons were gathered for the making of the comedic film with a combined value of £65 million ($115 million CDN).
Included within the collection was a gorgeous, all-original DBR1; the One-77; a V-12 Vantage; a Rapide S; and the halo-car Aston Martin Vulcan.
The three “super-hangars” purchased by Aston Martin are located in St. Athan, South Wales, U.K., and will be converted into state-of-the-art production facilities for the brand.
You’ll want to crank up the volume before watching the above video as iconic Aston Martin engine notes ring out loud and clear.
