A tribute song for the late Paul Walker, the star of the popular Fast and Furious franchise, has become the most-watched video on YouTube, with more than 2.9 billion views, and counting.

“See You Again,” performed by Wiz Khalifa, was published April 6, 2015, and highlights scenes from the Fast and Furious franchise and The Fate of the Furious. Walker was supposed to be a lead actor in that film, had his life not been taken November 30, 2013 in a street racing crash.

Fans of the music video and Paul Walker’s performances in the Fast and Furious franchise clearly resonated with the music’s lyrics and message—as of this writing, the video accumulated 15,757,235 YouTube ‘thumbs-up’ likes.

At the time of his death, Walker had been riding in the passenger seat of a Porsche Carrera GT supercar, driven by his friend Roger Rodas.

After investigating the crash, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported Rodas had been driving more than double the posted speed limit.

“Investigators determined the cause of the fatal solo-vehicle collision was unsafe speed for the roadway conditions,” said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Commander Mike Parker in a statement given March 2014.

Walker’s death and Wiz Khalifa’s tribute song serve as a sobering reminder to car enthusiasts everywhere that street racing has no place on our roads, and sports cars should be enjoyed responsibly.
