A quick-thinking German man potentially saved the life of a fellow motorist after noticing the driver of a swerving vehicle was unconscious behind the wheel, reports Autoblog.

In a maneuver more familiar to law enforcement officers, the good Samaritan used his Tesla Model S sedan as a brake-vehicle, forcing the incapacitated motorist’s wayward car to the shoulder of the A9 highway mid-February.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk was quick to recognize the driver’s considerate actions, publicly offering to pay for repairs of the Model S damaged during the emergency maneuver.

Initial estimates put the repair bill at roughly $10,000—a small price to pay for a fellow citizen’s health and well-being.
