If, after optioning your new Rolls, the bottom line seems a little light, you can now option it with a pricey diamond-encrusted paint, a finish the British automaker has recently perfected.

Rolls has applied the new paint to a long-wheelbase Ghost, coining its new creation “Diamond Stardust.”

This new precious-stone paint job consists of 1,000 crushed diamonds, with each diamond particle refracting a glint of light from the otherwise dark-gray-and-black paint job.

Rolls-Royce displayed its diamond-adorned Ghost at the recent Geneva Motor Show, on loan from one very discerning and well-heeled new owner.

Rolls-Royce says this is “the most luxurious and lustrous exterior ever seen on a motor car, and the most expensive paint to grace the body of a Rolls-Royce”—though it stopped short of revealing how much the Diamond Stardust paint job costs.
