If you’ve ever found yourself watching a motorsport event and thinking “Pfft, I could do that,” well, Xbox Canada wants you to put your money where your mouth is—except its putting its money on the line.
The makers of the Forza Motorsports racing video game franchise have announced a contest in which fans of the latest installment, Forza 7, can try in-game to beat Canadian IndyCar racer James Hinchcliffe’s two-lap time around the Dubai Racetrack circuit in a virtual Porsche 911 GT2 RS.
Clock in with two laps quicker than his time of 5:46.653, and you’ll be entered in a raffle to drive a pair of real Porsches across B.C. and see some of “the world’s most beautiful ecological wonders” along the way, all expenses paid. If you’re under 21 years old, however, you’ll instead earn yourself a cash prize of $6,500.
Xbox is being generous and giving both fans of the game and Hinchcliffe the option of taking the challenge in the comfort of their homes or at a series of very public, in-person events in Toronto, Hamilton, and Montreal.
The Ontario events took place earlier this week, but the third and fourth happen today and tomorrow in downtown Montreal at St. James Church and the central train station. Your opportunity to win playing from home lasts until October 29.
