The owner of a Ford Mustang recently commissioned tuning shop Vilner to upholster his pony-car in genuine mustang horse leather—hair and all.

The controversial project was completed in one of Vilner’s shops in Beijing, China. “This is a real Mustang, I want the leather to be from a mustang as well,” the owner was quoted.

As per the customer’s request, the seats, seat belts, and handbrake boot were appointed in hand-sewn mustang leather, while the door panels, dash and steering wheel were wrapped in Alcantara.

If your Mustang isn’t mustang enough for you, there are many ethical, animal-friendly ways to crank your pony car up to the next level—as equine friends, we hope this one-off remains a one-off.
