A Florida man acted to protect his family by reversing his lifted Ford F-150 onto a Toyota Camry after the car’s driver threatened them with gun violence, reports News 13.
The incident unfolded after a moment of road rage led the driver of a Toyota Camry to exit his vehicle at a red light and confront the driver of the F-150.
According to an arrest affidavit, Adalberto Aponte, 53, began striking 18-year-old Zach Waring on the face before Waring’s girlfriend warned Aponte that they had a gun in the truck. Aponte then purportedly said “I’ll show you a real gun” before walking back to his car.
That’s when things got lively, as, in desperation and blocked from forward movement by cross-traffic, Waring decided his best course of action to defend himself, his girlfriend, and his young child in the vehicle was to back over the Aponte’s car.
Thanks to a lift-kit and beefy tires, Waring managed to park his F-150 directly on top of the Camry’s roof, immobilizing the car and blocking the assailant from access to his gun in one swoop.
Charges were laid against the Camry driver, who was arrested by local police at the scene.
