A Frankfurt man was reunited this month with a car he lost 20 years ago when he’d forgotten where he’d parked it.

After he quite simply remember where he left it, the man reported the car missing in 1997. It was only recently found by authorities because, far from being stolen, it was sitting in an industrial building about to be demolished, reports German newspaper Augsberger Allgemein.

Police tracked down the 76-year-old owner and escorted him and his daughter to the car. Unfortunately, the decades of neglect meant it wouldn’t start and couldn’t be driven home.
