Honda has updated its subcompact Fit for 2018 with fresh styling, a new Sport trim, and standard Honda Sensing active safety features in all models fitted with the continuously variable automatic transmission.

The addition of the Honda Sensing suite gives the Fit what its maker calls the “most robust suite of … advanced safety and driver assistive features in its class in Canada.”

In the Fit, those features include adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, and lane-keeping assist with lane departure warning and road departure mitigation.

Styling updates include a redesigned front bumper with new piano-black accents, while the rear gets new taillights to sharpen up the going-away view.

Things get even sharper in a new Sport trim, which gets more aggressive aero add-ons front, sides and rear, along with a front splitter with an orange accent line. Sport models also get trim-exclusive black 16-inch wheels.

Honda’s press photos show the Fit Sport in a new colour called Orange Fury; other choices for 2018 include White Orchid Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Milano Red and Aegean Blue Metallic.

More detailed information on the 2018 Fit, including pricing, will come in the near future, Honda said.
