Ford is recalling more than 222,000 new F-150 and Super Duty pickups in Canada because the doors may fall open while driving, the automaker reports.

On some 2015 through 2017 model year F-150 and 2017 model year Super Duty trucks, a frozen door latch or a bent or kinked actuation cable may allow the door to seem closed when it in fact is not.

Ford plans to repair the actuation cable, if necessary, on affected vehicles, and install water shields over the latches to prevent water from getting in and freezing. A Ford spokesperson told Reuters affected owners would be notified next month, but that there was no timeline outlining when repairs would be made.

The recall will cost Ford $267 million US and affect a total 1.3 million trucks in North America.
