Autofocus.ca’s tradition of award-winning journalism continued this year when last week writer Dan Heyman received Published Photo of the Year from the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC), the country’s largest group of automotive writers and editors.

Heyman’s photo of a Land Rover Defender, published in his first drive coverage of the new 2017 Discovery, took home the Pfaff- and Pirelli-sponsored award presented at the organization’s annual general meeting, beating out entries from digital and print publications across Canada.

Autofocus.ca and its writers have consistently earned awards from AJAC and other organizations since the brand was born out of the former Sympatico.ca Autos in summer 2013. That year, the just-launched site won AJAC’s Best Web Design award, presented by Kia Canada.

Alongside Heyman, the site’s staff of writers, photographers, and contributors include such award-winning veteran Canadian journalists as Jil McIntosh, Mark Richardson, Brendan McAleer, and Howard Elmer.
