In the heart of bleak midwinter, when the very cars that are increasingly taking a backseat are pushed even further back, SUVs and crossovers make their presence even more broadly known. In January 2018, for example, Jeep reported its best month of Wrangler sales ever.

That’s just an anecdotal point, but it emphasizes the degree to which Canadians – who acquired eight Wranglers in January for every 1 passenger car from Jeep’s sister brands – want to sit up a bit higher, drive all four wheels, and feel (correctly or incorrectly) that they can go anywhere.

Over the last three months, between November 2017 and January 2018, these were Canada’s 25 most popular SUVs and crossovers.
