General overview

Write a review

With great power comes great weight savings and fuel economy, or, least, that’s the Range Rover Sport’s new mantra for the 2014 model lineup.

The big luxury SUV shed nearly 800 pounds off its curb weight, thanks to an all-aluminum chassis, and gained a Jaguar-derived, 340-horsepower supercharged 3.0-litre V6, along with an eight-speed auto (standard across the lineup.) The familiar 510-horsepower 5.0-litre supercharged V8 is also still available.

The 2014 Sport benefits from the regular Range Rover’s recent facelift – smoothing out a few angular lines and adding more LEDs – but also adopts the available tech as well, such as lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition and a head-up display with navigation data.

Available on the Sport is Land Rover’s latest feature, a sensor that provides depth information when driving through water.
