The new Ford GT will be built in Canada.
Ford announced at the Canadian International AutoShow on Thursday that its long-anticipated successor to the original GT will be built in Markham, Ont. in partnership with Multimatic.
The all-new carbon fibre supercar is slated to begin production in late-2016 and will feature a mid-mounted next-generation EcoBoost 600-horsepower twin-turbo V6 mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive. The new GT also features a stunning and aerodynamic two-door coupe body, two-seat cockpit accessed by upward-swinging doors, with a “stalkless steering wheel” and a fixed driver’s seat with adjustable pedals.
